The Farmer’s House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing innovative programming that maximizes independence and self-determination for individuals with developmental disabilities from a seven-county region in and around Kansas City.

The Farmer’s House launched its first program in 2010 and today operates with a budget of $1.6 million and a staff of 40 full- and part-time employees. Each year, The Farmer’s House serves more than 350 individuals with a mission to empower youth and adults with developmental disabilities to pursue their best lives by focusing on skills, employment, inclusion and self-reliance.

Community Integration Specialist
The Community Integration (CI) Specialist provides support for individual with different abilities to live a quality, meaningful life. CI Specialist support all areas of daily living including, but not limited to personal care assistance and teaching; community integration and socialization; exploration and development of employable skills, personal interests and personal safety.

Retail Market and Catering Associate

Employment Services Specialist
The Employment Specialist provides community-based Employment Services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to assist them in preparing for and engagement in successful competitive employment.
Provides specific hard and soft skill training based on interest inventories, observations, and team input.
