Boonslick Industries was established in 1976. A group of parents, guardians and other concerned citizens decided that a work activity center was needed to provide a quality environment for their family members and friends who were beyond school age and because of their disabilities could not find employment in the community.
The sheltered workshop was opened in the old Archway Cookie factory downtown and started with 15 employees.
In 1991 Boonslick Industries joined forces with other groups to establish additional disability services in Cooper County. Together they created an umbrella agency called Unlimited Opportunities, Inc. Acting as one agency, UOI offers to the community an array of service options which currently include; group homes, independent living, individual supported living, extended employment center, individual supports program/day programming, life skills, family support, transportation, personal care, and respite.
